NEP IMPLEMENTATION CELL
NEP Cell of Indira Gandhi College is established for the academic year 2023-24 to facilitate the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020 which was launched on 29th July, 2020 are as under:
Objectives:
- To work collaboratively for bringing transformative reforms in academic and research at Indira Gandhi College.
- To focus on Skill Development Initiatives.
- To promote flexibility and facilitate student mobility.
- To Focus on Outcome based education
- To facilitate Vocational Education to enhance Employability
- Follow the guidelines on Multiple Entry and Exit etc. in the Academic Programmes of the University of Gauhati.

- To take up cultural activities etc.

- To provide financial support to economically weaker students etc.

ANTI-RAGING CELL
Functions :
- To prohibit any conduct by any student or students whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student,
- To ensure that college campus is free from any kind of Ragging,
- To disseminate information against indulging in any kind of ragging issued by The Honorable Supreme Court of India, The Honorable High Court of Guwahati and the UGC and the University of Gauhati,
- To address any ragging issues immediately and taken action as advised by the committee,
- To bring out an awareness among the students about the consequences of ragging,
- To keep a constant eye and vigilance over ragging so as to prevents its occurrence,
- Anti-Ragging Cell executive meeting will be held at thrice in a year

REMEDIAL CLASS MONITORING CELL
Remedial education helps students develop positive attitudes and values, establishes the foundation for lifelong learning, and gets them ready for further education and the workforce.
Functions :
- To support students who are performing poorly in comparison to their peers,
- To help students consolidate their foundational knowledge in a variety of courses, master learning processes, build their confidence, and improve their learning efficacy, teachers also develop tailored instructional courses with intensive remedial support,
- To aid students in remembering what they have learned and practicing what they have learned, regularly assess their progress and provide quizzes,
- To promote greater individual focus, offer guidance in small groups.

ANTI-TOBACCO CELL
Indira Gandhi College, has formed committee towards tobacco control cell’s attempt to prevent consumption of tobacco among students and has declared the College as “tobacco-free” Zone. This initiative has been taken up keeping in mind the fact that an alarming number of students are getting addicted to chewing tobacco products like gutkha, etc. The objective of the committee is to provide students with the foundation for understanding the tobacco epidemic and the toxicity of tobacco. Towards this objective the committee has taken steps to increase the knowledge of students about the harmful constituents used in tobacco products and their harmful effects on health.
